In case you were wondering...
My second blood test came back totally fine, so I'm in the clear on brain issues.
My ultrasound was completely normal.
I've had stomachaches all day.
So basically, now they have no idea what's wrong with me, but something is definitely still wrong with me. In some ways, it's more frustrating and disappointing than having a real answer.
My doctor wants to put me on birth control to regulate my cycle, but I'm not into that idea. I really don't want to add more hormones to my body. Especially since I'm trying to be healthy and lose weight right now.
I've already lost a good chunk of weight. 17 pounds since November. Today I stepped on the scale, and the number I saw was lower than I've seen in two years. I'm a size 6, which is skinny for a normal person, but still pushing it for an actress.
I'm doing exercise videos and I've given up french fries. I'm just trying to eat other bad-for-me foods in moderation.
Why do I always feel like I'm fighting against my body?
May you find a way to work with your body instead of against it.

Actually I think birth control pills dont make you gain weight. It was just a myth because most girls started on pills just in college and they gained the Freshman 15 and thought it was the pills
I haven't noticed weight gain when I started on Yasmin but I noticed I was more emotional :P The cutest videos made me tear up. Even So you think you can dance!!!
Other than that..weight gain.. in the clear.
Hope they find out what's wrong :(
I'm sorry Angela, I wish they can figure it soon because I know how confusing that must feel..
Ps. I do fight against my body all the time, it's just hard sometimes with yummy bad foods.
Pss. I. Like you, believe birth control pills make people gain weight. Not to mention it makes them cranky.
There are just as many people who lose weight when they go on birth control pills as who gain weight. I was one of the ones who lost weight. You might not want to rule that option out... just learn more about it. There are so many brands of Pills, you might find one that suits you. But I've read your blogs about other meds that you take/have taken, so I understand your concerns there, too.
Regardless, I hope you get an answer about your bad tummy aches. It can't be pleasant.
What about birth control that doesn't use estrogen?
AND. Birth control doesn't make you gain weight. It makes you hungry. And THAT makes you gain weight.
I'm no doctor, but perhaps you could change the way you're thinking about birth control pills or other medications. Maybe taking the pill would not just be "adding MORE hormones" to your body, but rather supplementing hormones that your body is not sufficiently producing. Sure they may be synthetic, but if your body is not naturally producing what it needs, supplementing it with a pill isn't adding unnecessary hormones, it's giving you what your body needs.
I'm the one who commented previously about having anxiety induced pain and I'm now taking anti-anxiety meds. I think of it this way: My brain just isn't capable of producing the chemicals and hormones that I need to be "normal", so I have to take medication to put those necessary chemicals and hormones in there. They're not foreign; they're just not produced naturally because I have an imbalance.
I agree with you, having a diagnosis is so much better because that means there might be a treatment. Not knowing is torture.
As far as weight loss goes, you should go to Weight Watchers just once. I'm going because I need to lose about 70 pounds, and at the meeting center I noticed a sign saying that you can try it out for free. And really, the first meeting is the one where you get the most important information. They give you a pamphlet that talks about the Points program. Before going there I honestly had no idea how bad certain foods were for me. You'll learn how many points you need per day in order to lose weight and that will give you perspective on the points values for certain foods. For example, I can eat 28 points per day to lose weight. The steak Burrito Ultimo from Baja Fresh is 22 points, so I could eat much more than that all day!
(Sorry for such a long comment!)
Well, I'm glad it's not a brain issue (cause those ain't fun), but bummer that it's still unsolved as to what's been bothering you. Best of luck figuring it out, Angela.
